Responding to the crisis in Ukraine.
The Crisis in Ukraine.
At least 3 million people have fled their homes to escape the conflict in Ukraine. Heavy fighting, shelling and airstrikes across the country have had devastating consequences for civilians. Homes have been destroyed. Families have been separated. Lives have been lost.
At Ukraine’s borders with Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova, huge numbers of people are arriving with only what they can carry.
What has AV Trinity done?
As a company, we have made a donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) in support of Ukrainian refugees, as we, like so many others, are deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine.
What is the DEC doing?
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries providing food, water, shelter and medical assistance. This includes supporting hospitals and primary healthcare facilities with medicines and medical equipment as well as psychosocial support and trauma counselling.
More about the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal was launched on 3rd March 2022 and so far, more than £200 million has been raised from donations. In Ukraine, the DEC and its charities are:
Providing cash transfers, food, water, clothing and other essential supplies.
Setting up centres with beds, food, showering facilities, phone charging and safe spaces for children.
Supporting vulnerable people.
Running phone lines to provide up to date information.
Rebuilding infrastructure.
Providing health services and mobile clinics.
Providing volunteers to assist with evacuations.
