The Menopause Workplace Pledge.

AV Trinity has just signed up to the Menopause Workplace Pledge, joining companies including Tesco, HarperCollins UK, Santander UK, Severn Trent and Bupa in pledging to ensure a supportive workplace for employees affected by menopause.

Menopausal women are the fastest-growing demographic in the workplace; however, many of these women may be struggling to manage the psychological and physiological changes their bodies are going through. Menopause is a period of change for women as their bodies undergo hormonal shifts. Many women suffer from hot flushes, night sweats, and other symptoms, including anxiety and for some, this causes them to leave the work force entirely. This means that experienced middle-aged women are leaving the workforce in droves.

In the UK, around 900,000 women have given up work as a result of symptoms associated with the menopause. Therefore, we have decided to take action to support our employees at this difficult stage of life.

Our aims.

At AV Trinity, we recognise that the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and women need support. As a result, we aim to:

  1. Talk openly, positively and respectfully about the menopause.

  2. Understand and reduce the barriers that could potentially prevent a colleague going through the menopause transition from performing and/or developing to their full potential.

  3. Identify appropriate workplace changes or adjustments to support team members and help them thrive at work.

  4. Foster an inclusive working environment in which everyone is treated fairly.
