Jonathan has 30 years of experience in the health and charitable sectors. He has served on the boards of national charities, and has advised Local Government and the Home Office whilst serving on Ministerial Advisory Committees at the Department of Health. He has been an Associate Non-executive Director of Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital as well as a Human Rights Ambassador for Age UK. Jonathan was awarded an MBE in 1990 – the first honour ever awarded for HIV work – and received an honorary degree from the University of Brighton in 2011.
