Issue 7 2026 | What to do when a payout lands… This month, both of our new articles look at receiving a personal injury payout. It is often the largest sum a person will ever receive, and it usually arrives at a difficult time, which often makes clear decisions both harder and more important. The first article covers the practical side: what matters in the first few weeks, how to think about investing what remains, and when advice earns its value. The second answers a question we hear often: is a personal injury payout taxable? The payout itself usually is not, but what it earns once invested can be, and that is where planning makes a difference.
That said, a personal injury payout is a situation only a few of our readers will ever face. The two articles we have chosen from the archive this month apply to just about everyone, so if you have not read them before, now may be a good opportunity: Building a diversified investment portfolio. Stocks and Shares ISAs versus SIPPs, and how to choose between them.
You will find all four articles below. If any of these are relevant to you or someone you know, a free initial consultation is available at any time. I hope you find the articles useful. Helen Carey Director, AV Trinity
