On the 29th May Karen Vidler was asked to take part in a live debate on Radio 5.  The topic being discussed was why there appears to be only a small number of women who are making it to the top in business.  Professor of Finance at Cass Business School,  Keith Cuthbertson, thinks that the UK should adopt the Norwegian model to ensure that a predetermined percentage of senior poitions are filled by women – even if there is a more qualified male candidate. Karen’s view is that women who achieve top positions in business should get there on ability alone and not as a result of “quotas”.  It was, needles to say, a lively debate!!
